Arttatrana Pal was awarded his PhD from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, in the year 2006. Following his PhD, he had a short stint as a research fellow in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, followed by a University Teaching and Research Faculty at the University of Colorado Denver, USA (2007-2010). He joined KIIT University, Bhubaneswar as an Assistant Professor in 2010 and became Associate Professor 2015. Then after Prof. Pal joined in 2016 as Associate Professor at Mahatma Gandhi Central University, and became a full time Professor in 2019. Prof. Pal has made significant contributions in the area of Metabolic Disease Biology, Nanomedicine and Toxicology and its link to disease. Particularly he is interested in Diabetes induced activation of stress signalling changes in brain, eye, heart and skin tissues. He is not only elucidating the mechanisms of Metabolic Diseases and regulation through the stress signalling pathways, but also targeting them to design new therapeutics against the mechanisms. After returning from abroad, he has own several research grants from different government sources such as DBT and ICMR to establish his research laboratory. Over the years, he published several research articles in many international journals with high impact factor. Besides fundamental and cutting edge research, Prof. Pal is also involved in teaching and organizing science outreach programs. His popular lectures on ‘Diabetes, Eye, Skin, and Cardiovascular Complications are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in diabetic patients and Therapeutics have benefitted Intermediate School and College Students greatly.
